EJAC demands restoration of jobs to Centaur Hotel employees

SRINAGAR, July 1: Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) J&K under the leadership of its president, Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam staged a protest demonstration here today demanding safeguarding of livelihood of Centaur Hotel Employees who are on protest since last two weeks.
Shabnam urged upon the administration to safeguard the jobs of these employees who were evicted from Centaur Hotel after the J&K government took over its possession.
He said that 160 employees have been working in the Hotel since last many decades and some of them are at the verge of retirement and now they have been left with nothing and there is no other source of income for them due which they along with their family members are facing a lot of difficulties.
The EJAC leader said that these employees have kept the Hotel operational even in tough times.
He assured full support to the aggrieved employees and conveyed that EJAC will stand shoulder to shoulder with them till their genuine demands are met.
Shabnam urged the administration to ensure that livelihood of these employees is safeguarded and they are not left to suffer.
He requested the administration to solve the genuine demands of these employees before Eid-ul-Adha.
EJAC leaders who participated in the protest were Mohd. Shafi Rather, Bashir Ahmad Thoker, Gh. Nabi, Mohd. Shafi Wani, Mohd Akbar Dar and others.
