EJAC Kargil calls all party meet

Shotopa (Kargil), June 7: Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC), Kargil, today held a meeting with representatives of different religious and political organizations under the chairmanship its president Mohammad Mukhtar Khan to discuss the special Duty Allowances issue of the employees.
A statement of the association said that the participants were informed that the employees of Ladakh are demanding release of Special Duty Allowance of 12.5% as paid to the Central Government employees posted in Kargil.
The participants said that the demand will be brought into the notice of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for its earliest resolution, the statement said.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Mohammad Ali Representative Islamic Society Kargil, Sheikh Mohammad Sadiq Rajayee Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust, Ghulam Raza President National Congress Committee, Haji Ghulam Hassan Khan President National Conference Kargil, Haji Ghulam Mohammad Khuddam President BJP Kargil and Kacho Gulzar Hussain President PDP Kargil.
“The Central Government employees are also getting another allowance of Rs 2000/month as Remote Locality Allowance. Thus a huge disparity of allowances has been created between Central and State Government employees having equal job responsibilities,” it said.
The representatives of different political and religious organizations assured full cooperation and support to EJAC in the struggle to achieve their genuine demands.
