JAMMU, Feb 14: The leadership of the J&K Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) called on Chief Secretary J&K UT, Atal Dulloo today to press for the resolution of critical employee’s demands.
President Wajahat Hussain Durrani, leading a delegation, reiterated the 29-point demands outlined in a comprehensive memorandum submitted on 19th December 2023, emphasizing the urgency of addressing issues such as the regularization of daily wagers, regularization of Rehbar- e- Khel, a transfer policy for ReT teachers, job policies for various departments, restoration of Old Pension Scheme (OPS), and the revival of SICOP.
Spokesperson for J&K EJAC, Mir Bashir Ahmad, highlighted President Durrani’s emphasis on the restoration of SICOP, underlining its impact not only on employees but also on approximately 2000 Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMSE). The delegation also advocated the resolution of concerns of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) employees, emphasizing timely resolution of issues like time-bound and transfer policy. The issue of delay in the settlement of +2 Lectures progression was discussed, along with the demand for the regularization of Rehbar-e-Jaglat employees against posts at par with other Rehbar scheme employees.
Assuring the delegation, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo conveyed that significant progress is underway to address these concerns, expressing confidence in positive developments in the near future. President Durrani extended gratitude for the Chief Secretary’s proactive steps towards resolving key demands.
In a subsequent meeting with Director General Codes S.L. Panditaji, the delegation sought updates on the progress of the 29-point demand charter/memorandum presented during their previous meeting. DG Codes appreciated the effective advocacy of J&K EJAC and highlighted ongoing efforts, including resolving the GP Fund issue with the Finance Department.
The delegation, comprising senior leaders Sajad Parray, Mir Bashir Ahmad, Dr Nazim from Lecturer Association, Khalid Rafeeq Bhat RRT Forum, Mushtaq Ah Malik from SICOP, Javaid Ah Khan DP EJAC Pulwama, along with representatives from NHM, Anchal Bakhshi, and Jagdish Singh, remains optimistic regarding a “breakthrough” in the near future.
