SRINAGAR, June 22: Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has expressed strong resentment against the delay being caused by the Government in releasing the salary of the employees working under new pension scheme.
A meeting of Employees Joint Action Committee was held at its central office Srinagar under the presidentship of Abdul Qayoom Wani. In the meeting, all the speakers expressed their strong protest against the delay in releasing salary of employees working under new pension scheme, besides delay in release of salary to all daily rated employees, teachers working under SSA and RMSA, Health employees working under NHM and water testing employees working under NRDWP scheme.
Mr Wani condemned the attitude of the people at the helm of affairs who seem to be non-serious regarding this issue. Mr Wani said that the employees of various departments are without salary for the past five months and the daily rated workers are also suffering for want of their salaries. He further said that the delay in salaries of working class is human rights violation and threatened that if Government fails to release the pending salary of NPS, SSA, RMSA, NHM, NRDWP workers and all temporary employees and daily wagers before Eid, EJAC will hold a strong protest and the whole responsibility of any untoward incident shall lie on the Government.
EJAC members appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to look personally into this sensitive issue and provide justice to the employees by releasing their pending salaries before festival.
