EJAC to revive agitation after Darbar Move to Srinagar

JAMMU, Apr 22: State Government Employees’ Joint Action Committee (SGEJAC) has decided to revive its agitation in support of pending demands of State employees with the re-opening of Civil Secretariat at Srinagar on May 6.
Addressing a joint press conference here today senior leaders Suresh Sharma, Sushil Sudan and Subash Verma said that the JAC has taken strong exception to the recent circular issued by the GAD where in it has been ordered that all daily wagers engaged after 1994 will be discontinued. They said it was cruel joke with those engaged by the Government on need basis. They if the Government had to throw them out why they were engaged. They warned to launch a massive agitation.
The EJAC leaders further alleged that Government despite making promise has failed to honour its commitment. The pending demands of the employees regarding regularization of daily rated/ consolidated workers, enhancement of retirement age, removal of pay anomalies, providing 6th Pay Commission benefits to PSU workers have not been addressed.
They also demanded immediate release of 8 % DA in favour of employees, grant of Rs 1000 medical allowance per month and budgetary support to the PSUs. They said that EJAC has resolved to revive agitation from May 6 as the Government has failed to honour its commitment. Other senior EJAC members P S Chib, Pardeep Sharma, Darshan Magotra, Rinku Gill and Yash Pal Sharma also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, GEJAC has also supported Patwar Association and assured full cooperation.
