DODA, Mar 3: Police today arrested a murder accused within hours of commission of the crime.
As per Police one Amir Sheikh, son of Anayatullah, resident of Akramabad, Doda lodged a complaint with police yesterday that one Jahangir Ahmed, son of Mohd Sharief, resident of Akramabad, Doda entered the house of his grandmother Mursa Begam, resident of Akramabad and assaulted her leaving the elder lady critically injured.
She was shifted to District Hospital Doda for treatment where doctors declared her as brought dead.
After committing the crime the accused fled away from the spot.
Police registered a case in this regard in FIR number 41/2024 U/S 458/302 IPC at Police Station Doda and investigation was started by SHO Doda under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Doda and under overall supervision of SSP Doda, Javaid Iqbal.
After hectic efforts Police arrested the accused within 24 hrs and investigation was still in progress till last reports.
