POONCH, Aug 3: An elderly man was booked by Mendhar police for alleged sexual harassment of his daughter-in-law in Mendhar area of district Poonch today.
A police official said that one Naseema Akhtar (name changed), hailing from Mankote area of Mendhar today lodged a written complaint at Mendhar Police Station, alleging that her husband has gone to Saudi Arabia for work and her father-in-law, Mohd Bashir of Keni- Mankote, taking advantage of his absence, sexually harasses her. The victim alleged that she resisted many times and even told her mother-in-law but she also forced her to remain silent and did not support. She said that tired of her old father-in-law’s advances and unacceptable activities, she was forced to lodge FIR.
SDPO, Mendhar, Neeraj Padyar when contacted said that on the complaint of young woman, an FIR has been registered against the accused Bashir and he has been arrested.
