JAMMU, May 7: An elderly man was killed today in a road mishap at Narwal Chowk in city outskirts.
According to the reports, the man identified as Om Parkash (70) son of Laxman dass, a resident of Sainik Colony, was going on its scooter bearing registration number JK02R-8694 when a container bearing registration number HP12F-6611 loaded with pipes hit his two-wheeler.
In the mishap, the elderly man killed on the spot. After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
A case in this connection was registered at concerned police station and the accused driver identified as Jasbeer Singh son of Pritam Singh, a resident of UP, arrested.
