UDHAMPUR, Oct 3: A 70- year old man was knocked to death by a rashly driven motorcycle, here today.
The deceased has been identified as Dharam Chand, son of Badri Nath of Sulgar, Tehsil Ramnagar. He was hit by a motorcycle JK02BC-3191 while walking on the roadside on Battal Balian road near Modi Ground.
Locals rushed him to District Hospital Udhampur, where doctors referred him to Command Hospital Udhampur in view of his serious condition. However, he succumbed to his injuries on way to Command Hospital.
Udhampur Police has registered the case under Section 279/337 in this regard.
Meanwhile, in another road mishap, another motorcyclist hit a child, who was playing on the roadside near Panama Morh. Locals rushed the injured child to CHC Chenani. He was identified as Mohamed Bilal, son of Mohd Sameer of Panama Morh Kud.
