Elderly woman robbed off gold ornaments

JAMMU, Dec 19: Two scooter borne youth today snatched a gold chain and “Dijhuru” of an elderly Kashmiri Pandit woman in broad day light at Greater Kailash area of the winter capital.
As per reports, 80-year-old Nirmala Wali, wife of Jeevan Lal Wali of Lane No 22, Greater Kailash had gone to purchase some vegetable from a shop near her home this morning. While returning, two scooter borne youths stopped her and snatched gold chain and “Dijhuru” causing grievous injuries to old lady.
As the old lady made hue and cry, the passerby rushed to the spot, but by that time, the snatchers managed to flee.
According to Jeevan Lal Wali, when the family approached police post Greater Kailash, they refused to register FIR saying that the area does not fall in their jurisdiction and advised them to approach Sainik Colony police post.
But the Sainik Colony police post also refused to register the FIR saying that the area does not fall in their jurisdiction.
