JAMMU, Dec 13: Former MLA and prominent member of the Randhawa Biradari, Ch. Piara Singh today urged upon the youngsters to respect elders. He said that the elders are assets for not only any particular Biradari but for the entire society and the youngsters must use their experience to lead a better life.
Ch Piara Singh was speaking at a function organized here, today which was attended by a large number of people from Randhawa community.
Former Member Legislative Council (MLC) Ch. Vikram Randhawa while speaking on the occasion laid stress on the members of the Biradari to inculcate sense of respect and moral values among the younger generation which is vanishing rapidly. He urged the members of the Biradari to join hands to eradicate all social evils from the society. He said that even today alcoholism, deaths due to dowry, drugs, domestic violence etc are very common in the society which is not a good omen. He said that it is high time that these social evils should be eradicated.
On the occasion many meritorious students of the biradari were felicitated to boost their morale. This year the Randhawa Biradari honoured Sahil Randhawa who had qualified KAS recently. The speakers urged upon the other children to work hard to achieve success in future so that they may serve the biradari as well as the nation.
