ANANTNAG, Sept 9: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chief spokesperson, Salman Nizami, today announced that DPAP Chairman, Ghulam Nabi Azad has now recovered from ailment and is set to begin election campaign from September 12.
Speaking during a road show for DPAP candidate Mir Altaf, Nizami said that campaign by Azad will include a series of public meetings in key constituencies like Devsar, Anantnag, Dooru, Qazigund and Doda.
“Our agenda is only development and peace,” he said while addressing the public in Bul Bul Nowgam adding: “The DPAP is committed to bringing positive changes and under the leadership of Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Party aims to promote politics of inclusiveness and development.”
The DPAP leader said their party manifesto is built on the achievements of Ghulam Nabi Azad’s development work during his two and a half year tenure as Chief Minister.
He highlighted the significant developmental works accomplished by Azad in Anantnag including the establishment of a medical college, new districts, schools and roads.
Nizami questioned the effectiveness of NC-Congress alliance citing recent internal conflicts and criticism including a senior Congress leader’s remarks against NC founder Sheikh Abdullah.
