JAMMU, July 16: An electric cable of main power supply line fell tonight at Sharika Vihar in Roop Nagar area of city outskirts and remained lying in the main lane of the Mohalla, posing serious threat to the lives of the people living in the area.
According to inhabitants of the area, they tried to contact every concerned people in the Power Development Department including lineman, JEE and AEE on phone but nobody picked up the call. “We even went to Roop Nagar Power Station, but there was also no body to attend to their problem,” they said, adding, that the broken live electric cable is lying on the ground in the main lane of the mohalla, which is a grave threat to lives of the inhabitants.
They said due to negligence of the PDD officers/officials, the inhabitants of the mohalla are bound to live in dark, that too in this hot and humid weather. They appealed higher authorities of the PDD to take action against concerned officers/officials for negligence.
