JAMMU, Jan 30: In a meeting here today All J&K Electric Department Linemen and Workers Union discussed their demands.
The meeting was chaired by Ashiq Hussain, Union president wherein the demand of immediately giving the relief of Rs. three lakh to the bereaved family of the worker killed at work due to electric shock was raised.
Speakers in the meeting also demanded assistance to the workers who get injured while on duty.
They demanded Departmental Promotion Committee to be constituted soon for the promotion of the employees of the department.
The demand of regularization of daily wagers, who have completed seven years of service, against the available posts in the department was also raised.
Pawan Sharma, general secretary of the Union, Anil Slathia, Surinder Kumar, Tara Chand, Girdhari Lal, Vijay Gupta, Narinder, Tilak Raj, Hamid Paul, Kewal Krishan, Randhir Singh, Kartar Nath and others were also present in the meeting.
