KATHUA, Dec 19: To highlight their demands, Kathua unit of Provincial Electric Employees Union held a protest dharna in the office complex of XEn EM&RE Div Kathua, here today.
During the dharna, the protesting employees raised slogans against Government for its alleged anti-employees attitude by resorting to suspensions, attachment and withholding salaries.
The dharna was organized by district president, Davinder Sharma and led by provincial president P C Sharma who also addressed the protesting employees.
The speakers highlighted the demands, which include regularization of daily wagers, grade against works assigned, one step promotion to all PDD employees who have rendered more than seven years service, payment to need based workers at the earliest, opening of new EM&RE Div at Basohli and reorganization of the department.
The Union appealed the concern quarters to immediately consider their demands at the earliest for the welfare of employees.
Mr Sharma warned the PDD authorities not to test the patience of employees who were so far highlighting their demands peacefully.
