LUCKNOW : Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, on the backdrop of Governor’s rule being enforced in Jammu and Kashmir following withdrawal of support by the BJP from PDP lead coalition government, on Wednesday said that elimination of terrorism from Kashmir was the top agenda of the Government.
“We will not tolerate terrorism from across the border at any cost and ensure that peace prevails in Kashmir,” the Union Minister said here after inaugurating a heart unit at a private hospital in the city.
“We have kept our promise that soldier will not open fire in Kashmir during Ramzan. But now as Ramzan has ended, our target it to ensure peace in Kashmir and clear up terrorism. Centre will not accept any kind of terror activities in Kashmir ,” he asserted.
Mr Rajnath, who represents Lucknow in the Lok Sabha, said the present NDA government has done good work to ensure that the living condition gets uplifted.
Talking about Pradhanmantri Awas Yogjna, Ujjawala Free Gas connection, Free electricity connection and construction of toilets, the Union Minister said that Uttar Pradesh government had implemented the schemes and results were seen.
Meanwhile, state health minister Sidharthanath Singh, who was also present at the inauguration, said that the Centre’s health scheme also known as ‘Modicare’ would benefit million of people. “The scheme would benefit six crore people in UP as they will get free medical facilities,” he asserted.
