Emergence of BJP was a well thought outlook: Prof Gupta

JAMMU, Apr 28: The former Union Minister, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta said that the emergence of the BJP was well thought outlook that India should be first and its unity and the integrity is the supreme.
He said that in late seventies the Bharatiya Jan Sangh (BJS) had withered away with the birth of the Janata Party but the core of the Sangh was kept away from the Janata Party. This created a difficult situation as the elements of disintegration especially the secessionists and semi secessionists tried to forge a Muslim United Front (MUF) in Kashmir. The Congress in Kashmir went into an alliance with the NC and some strange voices were encouraged to the extent that the Congress leadership led by then Prime Minister, P.V Narsimharao went to the extent of saying that Congress was ready to grant autonomy. At Vurcana Faso (South Africa) he made an uncalled for statement saying that the quantum of autonomy can be discussed for which the sky is the limit.
He observed that this amazing statement of the Prime Minister encouraged secessionist and semi secessionists which went to the extent of creating separating impression in the troubled Valley of Kashmir that Azadi is round the corner and the radicals were encouraged to the extent to create a threatening situation with the support of Pakistan by forcing the exodus of the minorities from the Valley and a highly dangerous situation was created.
Prof. Gupta also said that taking into account the developments in Kashmir and elsewhere in country the nationalists gave due attention and it was decided to organize the BJP. The formation of BJP was announced by former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Katra after performing the pilgrimage of Mata Vaishno Devi.
At this public meeting Hemraj Pujari predicted amongst thunderous applause that BJP would not only accomplish the mission of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra and that of towering leader of the country Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherji that in a country there would be no two Pradhan and two flags. Pujari had also predicted that the BJP would not only serve the cause of Indian unity but also work for the welfare of the entire world that Indianism (Bharatiya Sanskriti) takes the whole world as one family.
He said Narendra Modi led dispensation at the Centre has accomplished the great mission of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra and Dr. Mukherji by scrapping the Article 370 and taking steps to put J&K at par with other parts of the country.
