This has reference to the article “of innocent stone pelters” by Omkar Dattatray. The writer has aptly and vividly showered light on the current grim situation going on in Kashmir due to stone pelting on our army forces by the kashmiri youths particularly school and college going students. Kashmir has been on and off fire for far too long. These days “Kashmir is burning” is used more often than the “Kashmir is beautiful”. The writer has rightly said that there is petty politics going over the issue of stone pelting in Kashmir which is indeed very ridiculous and paradoxical thing. Politics of all concerned has ruined generations and there can be no accounting of young lives lost in protesting from several years. Kashmir is dancing on the tunes of Pakistan and so far Pakistan has also been very successful in waging a proxy war in Kashmir.
To keep Kashmir boiling, over a last couple of years, a new profession has emerged called as stone pelting on army and security forces. These stone pelters are hired by ISI agents and other separatist outfits in Kashmir and are being paid hefty amounts for this insane act of stone pelting. The well-oiled machinery which runs this profession takes lives on both sides i.e. protestors and protectors. Kashmir is a political situation, it needs political resolve, it needs commitment, it needs honorable approach towards a resolution but it is really absurd to say these stone pelters as innocents.
