UDHAMPUR, Jan 22: Declaring the launch of massive preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, AICC Coordinator for Udhampur Lok Sabha seat, senior vice president and chief spokesperson of State Congress, Ravindra Sharma today said that the emotional card of BJP will not work this time.
While addressing an important meeting today at Udhampur in which leaders and workers of four different Assembly constituencies of Udhampur Lok Sabha seat participated, Sharma, a former MLC stressed upon the party workers and leaders to put all their strength into the election campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He suggested them to sharpen the media penetration into the public and expose the misdeeds of BJP in the Jammu and Kashmir.
Sharma said that Assembly elections have not been held in the State for the last 10 years and the Corporation elections were also cancelled by the BJP due to fear of defeat. He pointed out that the tenure of Panchayat representatives has also ended, although if BJP had its way, even Lok Sabha elections would not have been held.
Using direct words in his address, he said that the people of the state are fed up with the one-sided and partisan policies of the BJP. From unemployment to inflation, and from corruption to scams, there is an atmosphere of anarchy everywhere and people want their elected representatives to help them in fulfilling their reasonable and just demands. He referred to the demands of contractual and consolidated workers and said that the educational and health infrastructure and the red tapism of bureaucracy had put the masses in fix.
Referring to the recent ‘Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra’, he said Rahul Gandhi is once again on the streets of the country, but BJP is having stomach cramps, is trying to disrupt the Yatra in some way or the other.
AICC Coordinator asked the party functionaries to make every possible effort for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He said that party leaders and workers will have to work on a war footing.
