JAMMU, Aug 8: Various Sikh bodies in a meeting held here today alleged that various empanelled hospitals are not honouring Ayushman Cards and patients are suffering.
In an emergency meeting of various Sikh organizations J&K held under the chairmanship of Mohinder Singh, chief organizer Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K and former member District Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Jammu appealed the Congress leadership specially Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to take up the issues of public interest and Sikh community in the Parliament.
He alleged that the Ayushman cards issued by the Govt are not being honoured by the empanelled hospitals in the Jammu or Kashmir and outside the J&K with the result it is mere an eye- wash because hospitals are not entertaining for surgeries and providing medicines/ various kind of medical test etc.
Apart from it, poor people are not getting the benefit of scheme and it is requested to take up the matter with the Government at the appropriate forums. It is also a fact that recently Govt has constituted a Delimitation Commission for de marketing and increasing assemble seats but the Commission has no powers either to defreeze 24 seats kept vacant for the area under POK and also it is requested that Central Govt may be asked to at least defreeze 4 seats for the refugee of 1947 for J&K as it has been done in the past when one seat was defreezed for Mendhar constituency.
He said Sikh community is also demanding that for the last 75 years no Sikh advocate from the J&K state has been elevated as High Court Judge and present Govt in the UT has not given any representation to the Sikh community in the administration as advisors or in the Public Service Commission which is causing great resentment among the community.
