SRINAGAR, Nov 7: On the second day of two day pen down strike called by Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) in support of the demands of the Government employees most of the Government Departments wore a deserted look.
Employees preferred to remain at their homes and did not join their duties on the call of the two day strike given by JCC. However, in some of the Government Departments employees turned up and attended to their duties.
The JCC had given the strike call while demanding that the State Government should enhance the retirement age of the employees from 58 to 60 years, regularization of daily wagers and consolidated workers and removal of pay anomalies in all the departments.
Meanwhile, JCC leader and general secretary, ITI Employees Union, Mohammad Abbas said that the employees would not be deterred by ‘repressive’ measures. He urged the Government to fulfill the demands of employees at the earliest, adding that employees would be come on streets if there is more delay in this regard.
