Employees of MC Kishtwar submit memorandum

KISHTWAR, Feb 24: The employees and workers of Municipal Committee, Kishtwar who are on protest strike from yesterday, went in procession through main bazaar of Kishtwar town upto Deputy Commissioner’s office to present a memorandum, today.
The deputationists submitted a memorandum for early payment of their salary/wage arrears unpaid for last 4 to 7 months. Abdul Majid Shah, president, Low Paid Employees Federation, Kishtwar Abdul Rashid, Bhuri Singh, Najar, Mohd Iqbal Qazi, Mohd Nayeem and Bashir Ahmed while addressing the gathering of employees and workers of Municipal Committee, Kishtwar made a strong plea to the higher authorities to pay salaries/wage arrears on top priority basis otherwise they will be justified to intensify their struggle further as launching of such kind struggle has been forced upon them who are at the verge of starvation on account of non-payment of their salary/wages for such a long time.
The speakers also demanded grant of two and a half day extra pay for working on Sundays and gazette holidays and payment of sixth CPC arrears which have been paid to the employees of other department.
