Employees of Social Welfare, ICDS highlight issues

JAMMU, July 13: Non-Gazetted Employees Association of Social Welfare and Mission ICDS held a meeting, here today.
The meeting was attended by the employees working in Social Welfare and ICDS Sector.
During the meeting, it was brought to the notice that the Supervisors working in ICDS are without salaries since last 4 months with the result they are suffering badly despite of working so hard during the period of COVID-19 pandemic.
Besides, promotion cases and GP fund cases of many employees are pending for accord of necessary sanctions in the Mission Directorate ICDS J&K since last so many months.
The employees working in the Social Welfare Sector also informed that the Time bond promotion cases file and GPF files of many employees are biting the dusts in the Directorate of Social Welfare since last one year or more and they have visited the Directorate of Social Welfare many time but till date their cases has not been sanctioned.
Some of the relatives of deceased employees of Social Welfare also approached the Association and informed that they have submitted all the required documents of their next of kins in the Directorate of Social Welfare Jammu, through concerned District Social Welfare Officers, for compassionate appointment under SRO-43, but the department has approached delay tactics and has not settled their cases since last six months.
The Association has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor J&K, Advisor Farooq Khan, Principal Secretary, Social Welfare Department J&K, Civil Secretariat and Director General Women and Child Development J&K to issue the directions to the concerned authorities for redressal of the above grievances of the employees as early as possible.
