Employees, pensioners’ delegation meets Drabu

JAMMU, Nov 29: A delegation of Government employees and pensioners under joint platform met the Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu  and stressed upon the need to implement 7th Pay Commission  and regularize daily wagers, casual and need based workers  of all the departments engaged after 1994.
The delegation under the leadership of Mohd Gafoor Dar, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Kulwant Singh during meeting with the Finance Minister strongly projected the issues of the employees and workers. They said that in view of the soaring  prices of essentials and other items, the poor and middle class families, and especially the working class has been facing lot of hardships. They stressed the need to implement 7th Pay Commission in the State.
They further said that thousands of temporary workers are facing exploitation. They are working more than the permanent workers but still getting peanut amount as wages. Even Government is not providing their wages in time. Their families are facing starvation. They demanded that regular wages be paid to them and separate Wage Head  be created for the same. They also demanded their regularization by framing a definite policy.
Prominent among those who accompanied the delegation included Shahid Hussain, Raj Singh, Paramjit Singh, Tanveer Hussain, Balbhader Kumar, Naresh Kumar, Basant Kumar, Akhil Sharma, Pardeep Singh, Sanjiv Kumar and BP Singh.
