Employees, pensioners seek Old Pension Scheme, discuss pending issues

SRINAGAR, Nov 10: The meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Coordination Committee of Trade Union (JKCCTU) and Govt Employees Pensioners Association was held here today where in present situation after formation of the democratically elected Govt and the burning problems facing the employees and workers were discussed in detail.
The meeting was presided over by Mohd Maqbool, president JKCCTU and attended by almost all state office bearers, state committee members, District president/secretaries and women subcommittee members throughout the state. The agenda was put forth by Gurmeet Singh general secretary and senior leaders like Dr Shashipal Singh senior vice president and Provincial president Jammu, Haji Ghulam Mohamad senior vice president, Mohd Altaf, Sharief Ud Din Wagay secretaries, Surinder Sharma, Ajay Sharma, Ravinder Singh Raina, Bharat Bhushan and others,
The meeting appealed the newly elected Govt led by Omar Abdullah to address the immediate issues of employees and workers like restoration of Old Pension Scheme and formulate the wage and regularization policies for all temporary workers and ensure the full democratic, trade union and labour rights of employees as promised in the election manifesto.
The meeting also prepared the demand charter to be submitted to the authorities particularly to the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and the concerned Ministers of the newly elected Govt and took some important organizational decisions to gear up the organization to face the present challenges.
