Employees protest against trifurcation of FCI

JAMMU, Oct 28: Up in arms against proposed trifurcation of the Food Corporation of India, FCI employees held protest demonstrations all over the country against the Government move.
In Jammu, FCI employees under the banner of FCI Executive Staff Union protested in front of the office of General Manager FCI, Regional Office Jammu. They raised slogans against the Government move.
Members of SC/ST Welfare Association and Retirees FCI Welfare Association also participated in the dharna.
While addressing the protesters, the Union leaders also highlighted some other demands, which include regularization of Casual workers, implementation of SC direction on giving preferential treatment to Ex-Security Guards, sanction of additional staff because of increased workload, immediate approval of low pension scheme and percentage based fringe benefits under Cafeteria Approach to Cat III and IV at par with Cat I & II in FCI.
Those who addressed the dharna, included Bhupinder Singh, Sukhdev Singh, B D Sharma, Karam Chand, Natha Ram, Amit Gupta, Dharampal, Keshav Sawhney and other.
