Employees to stage protest demonstration on Aug 20

JAMMU, Aug 17: The State Government employees, under the banner of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) will stage massive protest demonstration at Press Enclave, Srinagar on August 20.
Talking to media persons here today, senior SGEJAC members Sushil Sudan, Suresh Sharma, Subash Verma and Babu Hussain disclosed that Government has failed to honour its commitment. To press for the pending demands the employees’ body has decided to to hold massive protest demonstration at Srinagar. For this purpose the employees from various parts of Jammu region including Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar would move to Srinagar on August 18.
The employees would leave in different groups on the same day. While employees from Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch under the leadership of Sushil Sudan, Subash Verma and Kartar Dubey would move on August 18, the other group from Udhampur, Reasi and Ramban would move with Suresh Sharma, Yash Pal Sharma and Darshan Magotra to Kashmir. Third group led by Babu Hussain Malik, Bharat Bhushan, Sewa Singh Rathore and Nazir Ahmed would leave from Kishtwar, Doda and Bhaderwah area to Valley on the same day.
The employees led by senior SGEJAC members Aijaz Ahmed Khan from Kashmir would lead the protest towards the venue on the proposed date (August 20). A massive protest demonstration would be held as organization has already given `Kashmir Chalo’ call. The said the Government has failed to regularize daily wagers, remove pay anomalies, release 10% DA, implement defined pension scheme, release balance payment of 6th Pay Commission arrears, enhance medical allowance and provide benefits of full Pay Commission to PSUs.
