Srinagar, Sept 29:State Government employees have deferred the next phase of agitation after Government called them for talks over the pending demands of the employees on Monday.
The senior Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) of the Government employees will hold meeting with the Chief Secretary, Madav Lal, and other senior officials on Monday to discuss the implementation of the agreement which government had reached with the employees leaders last year.
Senior JCC leader Abdul Qayoom Wani told Excelsior that if the Government implements the agreement, then they will call off the strike. If the Government fails to implement the agreement then JCC members will meet soon after the meeting with the Government and chalk out the future course of agitation.
Wani said that there would be neither negotiations with the Government nor any agreement. “The meeting with the Government will be held about the implementation of the already reached agreement”, he added.
Wani said that next phase of agitation will be decisive. He said that if the Government fails to implement the agreement, employees will be compelled to come out on the streets in protest.
The State Government employees held a peaceful protest at Agriculture Department Complex at Lal Mandi Srinagar today. The employee leaders who spoke on the occasion said that Government is deliberately forcing the Government employees to come out on streets by not implementing the agreement.
