Encounter between militants and security forces in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: An encounter broke out between militants and security forces at a village about 35 kms from here in Pulwama district this evening, police said.
The encounter in Kawini village erupted when security forces launched a search and cordon operation following specific information about presence of militants there, the police said.
Hiding militants lobbed a grenade and fired on the search party, triggering a gunbattle, the police.
No one was hurt in the militant attack, police said.
Reinforcements have been rushed to the area to flush out the militants. (AGENCIES)
