10 miscreants arrested from Pampore

Srinagar, Apr 3: A gun fight broke out this morning in Shopian district of South Kashmir while arms and ammunition were recovered from Budgam and 10 miscreants were arrested from Pampore for creating law and order problem during a search operation in Pulwama.
A gun fight broke out between militants and security forces in Choori Ki Gali area of Mughal Road of Sadev forest in South Kashmir’s Shopian today after an operation was launched following inputs about presence of a newly infiltrated group in the area.
Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Choori Ki Gali this morning after reports about presence of a group of militants who have recently infiltrated into the area.

As the security forces encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight. However, militants fled after initial exchange of fire and more troops have been rushed to the area and search for the militants is going on.
And security forces recovered arms and ammunition in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district today.
Police said that based on the credible input today morning, Budgam Police along with 53 RR launched a search in the forest area of village Shanipora Khan Sahab Budgam.
“During search, incriminating material of Lashkar-e-Toiba and arms and ammunition were recovered which were kept concealed in a bag beneath the bushes in the forest area”, police said.
“The recovery include one Chinese pistol 9 MM, one UBGL, four UBGL rounds, four pistol magazines, three radio set antennas, one 9 Volt Battery, three 7.62 mm rounds, 9829 mm rounds and one bonnet cover”, police said.
A case (FIR number 44/2021) has been registered and investigations are going on.
And police foiled a rifle snatching bid at Jammu and Kashmir Bank in Imam Sahib area of Shopian and an accused involved in the Act has been arrested on the spot.
Police said that some unidentified persons tried to snatch 12 bore rifle from guard of J&K Bank at Imam Sahib.
The guard entered into a scuffle with the accused persons following which one among them was arrested on the spot.
And police arrested 10 persons who were allegedly involved in creating law and order disturbances near Kakapora encounter site yesterday.
“Police Station Pampore have arrested 10 miscreants for indulging in stone pelting on security forces deployed near Kakapora encounter site”, a spokesman said.
Police said that some miscreants from nearby village Samboora had attempted to disrupt security forces by pelting stones on them and by raising anti-national slogans. “The miscreants were video graphed on spot and later identified by police. Acting swiftly, Police Station Pampore arrested 10 identified miscreants and booked them under relevant sections of law. Efforts for arrest of other miscreants are on and all involved persons will be booked accordingly.”
Police said that these incidents will not be tolerated and parents should restrain their children from indulging in such activities.
And police today said that it has solved the case relating to a grenade attack at Police Post Bus Stand Sopore last year in December which missed the intended target and exploded outside gate of the Police Post, resulting in injuries to three civilians.
Police said that during the course of investigation two suspects Mohammad Asif Najar son of Mushtaq Ahmad Najar resident of Noor Bagh Sopore and Sahil Rashid Bhat son of Abdul Rashid Bhat resident of Green Town Sopore were apprehended.
Police said that during questioning they confessed that they are working for LeT outfit as Over Ground Workers and had thrown the grenade on Police Post Bus Stand on the directions of LeT. They said that the duo also confessed that they were desirous to join the militant ranks but before that a hand grenade was handed over to them with the directions to throw it on any security force and police establishments in Sopore area, which they finally threw on Police Post Bus Stand.
