JAMMU, July 11: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today conducted an extensive tour of Gandhi Nagar Constituency and directed authorities to retrieve encroached land immediately as encroachments have made Jammu flood prone.
Randhawa, who today on the request of the inhabitants of Ranibagh, Tarkhana Mohalla, Vidhata Nagar, Shiv Shakti Mohalla in Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment conducted an extensive tour to these areas and listened to the problems being faced by the people appealed them to remove encroachments voluntarily.
During his visit to Vidhata Nagar the locals said that the area has become a flood prone following encroachment by a land grabber who has raised a multi-storey structure on the encroached land of the nallah. On inspecting the area Randhawa immediately directed DDC Jammu to get this land retrieved from the encroacher as with the onset of the Monsoon a threat of flood is looming large in the locality.
