Encroachment on 55 kanal land removed

JAMMU, Mar 29: The Jammu Development Authority (JDA) and JMC removed encroachment from Government land in Roop Nagar area here today.
The joint demolition squad of JDA and JMC launched operation today and removed encroachment on 55 kanal of land valuing over Rs 70 crore in Roop Nagar and Ploura area. One Saif Ali and seven others had encroached upon the Govt land, falling under Khasra No. 1193 and 1206 of Ploura. The team was headed by Tehsildar JDA, Vijay Sharma, Naib Tehsildar, Sardar Khan and Chief Khilafwarzi officer, JMC Satish Khajuria and CKO JDA Narinder Singh. SSP Jammu provided police assistance for the operation.
The structures raised by the Gujjars were also removed. Two JCBs were pressed into service during the operation. Some police force has also been deployed at the site to prevent any further encroachment.
