POONCH, Aug 24: The officials of Forest Department and Forest Protection Force (FPF) removed encroachment on nearly 10 kanal forest land at Jarhan Wali Gali in Gursai area of Mendhar today.
A senior Forest official said that nearly 10 kanal of Forest land falling in Compartment 159 of Mendhar Range had been illegally encroached upon by one Talib Hussain, son of Noor Hussain, resident of Nakka Majiari in Balakote. The land grabbers had raised some structure in the land and despite warning by lower field staff, he remained undeterred.
Today a joint team led by Range Officer Mendhar Javed Iqbal, assisted by FPF men and police, smashed the structures and retrieved the grabbed Forest land. Later, an FIR No. 63/2013 was also lodged with the Gursai Police Station against the land grabber. Some FPF men were also deployed at the site for keeping eye on the activities of the land grabbers.
