End discrimination or create separate division for Pir Panjal: Zulfkar

RAJOURI, June 26: Demanding opening of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) College for Pir Panjal region, Minister for CAPD & Tribal Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has said that the era of alienation is over and they will no more tolerate regional disparity with Pir Panjal region.
Talking to various deputations of Pir Panjal area, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that Government of India is planning to open College under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan scheme in Jammu province. He said that the province comprised of 10 districts in which Poonch and Rajouri are most neglected districts. He said, “It is not compulsory to open everything in Jammu district and there are other districts which need to be given justice”.
He said that Jammu province should not be considered as one Jammu district and leadership of Jammu must show sympathy with Pir Panjal region also where such institution can be opened for the benefit of the people. “Let the people of Jammu come forward and show belongingness with the people of Pir Panjal’, he said adding that if leadership of Jammu is not interested to care for Pir Panjal area, they should be given separate Pir Panjal division so that people of the area get justice.
“If our interests are not being taken care of, we will have no other option but to raise our voice for separate division”, he added.
Terming regional imbalance as biggest problem of economic debacle of Pir Panjal area, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that the era of this regional imbalance is over now and they will not tolerate regional disparity. “I cannot see any more injustice with the people of Pir Panjal area”, he said, adding that the people of this area have suffered a lot during wars with Pakistan and they have lost everything. He said that the development of the area remain standstill during the era of militancy and people felt alienated on all front due to only reason that previous Governments considered Jammu district as Jammu province and never concentrated on other parts. He said that Pir Panjal area need most of the attention of the State and Central Government and the place deserve IIT, IIM and RUSA college
Seeking support of political figures of Pir Panjal area in getting justice to the area, Zulfkar Ali said that all political leaders above party level should raise the issue of ending of regional disparity with Pir Panjal area by supporting the demands of IIM, IIT and RUSA College for this area.
