JAMMU, Feb 8: The first ever ‘Endo Update-2014’, as a part of Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme, was organised at Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Sidhra here today.
The CME programme on Endocrinology was inaugurated by Devender Kumar Batra, joint secretary of ASCOMS. It was organised by the Medical Education Unit of ASCOMS&H, in association with JK Endocrine Research Group (JKERG).
During the deliberations of the meeting, the experts in the field of Endocrinology spoke on the topic of the current medical importance. The CME was largely attended by senior doctors from Jammu, faculty from ASCOMS, Govt Medical College Jammu and the Physicians from Army Hospital, Jammu Cantt.
The experts deliberated on diabetes, diabetic emergencies, thyroid, harmone replacement, PCOD, Sheehan’s syndrome, Osteoporosis and approach to ambigious genitilia and short stature.
The eminent experts, who deliberated on the topic included Principal ASCOMS, Dr R P Kudyar- a noted Endocrinologist, Dr S K Wangnoo from Appollo Hospital Delhi, Dr Bashir Laway from SKIMS Srinagar, Dr Mohd Ashraf Ganaie from AIIMS Delhi, Dr Anil Sharma from GMC Jammu, Dr Narender Kotwal from Army Hospital Delhi, Dr Varinder Dhar and Dr Sumal Kotwal from Jammu. It was one day CME programme, comprising of several technical sessions and concluded in the evening.
