Energetic steps will be taken for socio-economic upliftment of poor: Bali

JAMMU, Mar 4: Minister for Forest, Ecology, Environment and Social Welfare, Bali Bhagat today assumed the charge of the office. On the occasion, the Minister affirmed to work with sincerity and honesty for the welfare and prosperity of the State.
On the occasion, number of people from various walks of life besides Government functionaries of the departments called on the Minister.
Interacting with people on the occasion, the Minister asserted that strenuous efforts would be made for socio -economic transformation of the weaker sections of the society. He said that the welfare schemes launched by Centre and State Governments would be implemented with great vigour. “It should be ensured that benefits of welfare schemes reach the deserved and needy”, he maintained.
The Minister said that innovative measures would be taken to develop the green gold, which is treasure trove of the State. He exhorted upon the officers of his department to come up with comprehensive projects to achieve tangible results for increasing forest cover.
Mr. Bali exhorted upon the officers to work with more zeal and dedication and achieve optimum results under various schemes. He directed that problems and developmental needs of the people should be redressed on priority.
The Minister emphasized upon the officers for monitoring the developmental projects besides welfare schemes so that the benefits percolate to the grass root level. He instructed that adequate publicity be given to welfare schemes especially in rural and hilly areas for ensuring maximum benefits to the weaker sections of the society.
