SRINAGAR, Jan 16: Engineers in district Kupwara today went on indefinite leave as a mark of protest after they were allegedly abused and humiliated by the Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara during a meeting.
In this regard, the engineers have written to the Executive Engineer, REW Kupwara and have informed him about their move following the use of “un-parliamentary” by the administrator of the district.
“…It is to submit that during a review meeting with the DC Kupwara on 16-01-2023, AEEs/AEs were humiliated, abused and un-parliamentary language was used for the matters which were not mandated/ vested to AEES/AEs. Words like bastard, third class, haramzada, thieves were used, which is against the CSR rules. We the AEEs/AEs of REW Kupwara go on indefinite strike till the matter gets resolved,” reads the letter which has been sent to the Executive Engineer.
