SRINAGAR, Aug 5: The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police Anantnag, Javid Iqbal Matoo, today directed the district officers to enhance the security of “vulnerable targets.”
These directions were issued during a security review meeting chaired by him at DPL Kulgam.
During the meeting, the officers discussed recent developments and current challenges and measures to counter them.
The police spokesperson stated, “DIG emphasized the need to review and enhance the security plans and to design effective counter-insurgency strategies for the smooth and peaceful conduct of forthcoming events.”
DIG also stressed the need to enhance the security of vulnerable targets and ensure foolproof security arrangements for the upcoming events.
He directed the officers to closely monitor social media platforms to prevent any attempts to spread misinformation impacting public safety and order.
The meeting was attended by 2 Sector Commander Ujroo, DIG CRPF, CO 34 RR, CO 18 Bn CRPF, CO 163 BN CRPF, CO 46 BN CRPF, Addl SP Kulgam, Addl SP NHW Qazigund and other senior officers of Kulgam police, Army and CRPF.
SSP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal gave a detailed presentation regarding the security arrangements for ongoing SANJY-2024, the forthcoming Independence Day, anti-terrorist operations, maintenance of law and order, measures taken to eradicate the drug menace and other important issues.
Later, DIG inspected the facilities available for officers and jawans at DPL Kulgam.
