JAMMU, Nov 24: DDC Chairman Jammu, Bharat Bhushan Bodhi today directed the senior functionaries of Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry Departments to ensure cent percent utilization of funds under the Capex Budget.
In this connection, the DDC Chairman chaired a meeting at his office which was attended by Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Horticulture Development Officer, Chief Agriculture Officers and SDOs.
Addressing the meeting, the DDC Chairman directed the officials of these departments to ensure utilization of hundred per cent CapEx Budget of the current financial year to avoid fund lapses. He said that fund lapses mean that the officials are not performing their duties with dedication and thus can be compared as another form of corruption of delinquency.
The officials apprised the DDC Chairman that till date 50 per cent CapEx Budget has been utilized.
Reacting sharply to the situation, the DDC Jammu gave necessary directions to the senior functionaries of these departments to make sure that 100 percent utilization of CapEx Budget be done before end of fiscal. He said that officials hold responsibility to disseminate information among the masses about the public welfare schemes running in the UT of J&K so that they could avail maximum benefit and no soul remains unaware of the bounties provided by the Government led by PM Narendra Modi.
Bharat Bhushan also directed the officials to pace-up the process of providing relief to hailstorm hit farmers as the same is necessary for giving justice to the tiller community. He said that Government is clear on the issue that no effected farmer is left behind as the days of discrimination have gone and the Modi Government is committed to justice for all.
Earlier, the DDC Chairman started the development work of a cremation ground at Simbalwala with an estimated cost of Rs 10 lakhs.
