The KHC president, Advocate M L Thusoo and its convener, P L Koul Budgami in a joint statement have made an appeal to Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, T K Bhat as well as Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Jitender Singh in this regard. They urged them to issue instructions to concerned officials to ensure home delivery of ration to migrants in these areas.
They said that the Relief and Rehabilitation Organisation has issued the ration for the month of March and April in favour of migrant relief holders on old ration cards so that the people will not face problems till issuance of new ration cards but the people living in red zone areas can’t visit the ration depots in view of restrictions and curtailment of the movement in these areas.
Both Advocate Thusoo and Budgami said that they took up the issue ration with Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, T K Bhat who informed them that orders were issued since for release of ration for March and April months on old ration cards to all zonal officers who have also issued the ration slips to the concerned migrants. The RRC also informed them that cash assistance has also been released by the organization for the month of March and same will be deposited in their accounts within a day or two.
