SRINAGAR, Aug 30: Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Imran Raza Ansari today directed for strict timelines to be framed and adhered to for enrollment of left out population under Aadhaar.
The Minister said this while chairing a meeting to review the progress made under various Information Technology projects being undertaken in the State.
During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the coverage attained in the State with regards to enrollment of general population under Aadhaar.
Taking note of the progress, the Minister directed for setting up of additional centers for ease to general public and assured that additional machinery will be dispatched on priority. He also directed the nodal agency to maintain special focus on enrollment of children especially those under the age of 15 years, so that they can avail benefits of various state and centrally sponsored schemes.
He directed the nodal agencies to increase the pace of enrollment work, adding that he will be undertaking periodic reviews on the progress made regarding the Aadhaar seeding process in the State.
Ansari further said that Government is committed to facilitate people in Aadhaar enrollment besides helping them avail benefits from various state and centrally sponsored schemes.
The meeting was informed that the department has disbursed money to the executing agencies for procurement of enrollment devices and training to manpower.
It was further informed that for efficient delivery of welfare schemes with regards to School Education Department, Information Technology Department has proposed for a system to be developed to identify the beneficiaries using Aadhaar biometric authentication; the biometric devices will be deployed at the service application counters to prove identity and physical presence.
Besides, the Minister also reviewed various projects like State Service Delivery Gateway (SSDG), e-Assembly, e-Prisons (Automation of Prison Department, e-district, and Automation of Jammu Development Authority (JDA).
The Minister directed the officials to accelerate the work process and asked them to float the Request For Proposal (RFP) in a time bound manner.
Commissioner Secretary Information Technology, Sanjeev Verma, CEO Jammu and Kashmir e-Governance Agency (JaKeGA), Sadat Hussain and other concerned were present in the meeting.
