SRINAGAR/JAMMU, Nov 20 : The National Conference President and Union Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah today kick started the election campaign for the ensuing MLC polls from the party headquarters and asked the party leaders, workers and Panchayat members to ensure victory of National Conference and Congress candidates from both Kashmir and Jammu
“The NC – Cong coalition can alone ensure that Panchayats become strong, vibrant institution and everyone should work hard to make the four coalition candidates successful” Dr. Farooq Abdullah said while addressing the party leaders at the headquarters.
He asserted that the coalition between National Conference and Congress will grow further in the State to realize the goal of peace and prosperity. “The coalition represents the aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir and it would work in coordination and unity to serve the State and fulfill the commitments made to people”, he said asking the party workers to play their important role in this direction.
Hitting at the adversaries, the Party President said, “these people have all along divided the people and today they are dividing the Panchayat members,” adding “don’t pay heed to them as they have just one point agenda to ensure these Panchayats don’t prosper”.
Dr. Farooq asked the workers of both the parties to foil the design of opposition and work in tandem at all levels to address the public grievances “You have to work as a bridge between the people and the Government”, he said.
