JAMMU, Mar 24: An entrepreneurship conclave was organized by the School of Business, Faculty of Management in association with the Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU).
The chief guest of the inaugural function Prof Pragati Kumar (Vice Chancellor, SMVDU) highlighted the importance of an entrepreneurial mindset that enables people to identify and make the opportunities, overcome and learn from setbacks, and succeed in a variety of settings. He emphasized inculcating entrepreneurial values within students for business independence and sustainability.
Prof Ashutosh Vashistha (Dean, Faculty of Management) wished the participating students the best of luck for future endeavors while Prof Supran Kumar Sharma, (coordinator of the program) described about the various entrepreneurial opportunities enhancing future economic growth, innovation, and entrepreneurship research.
Prof Jyoti Sharma (Head, School of Business) narrating through story mentioned the relevance of perseverance in entrepreneurship. She emphasized that struggles make one stronger and life of entrepreneurship is full of struggles.
The six plenary sessions were conducted in which various experts including Sanjeeva Shivesh (co-founder, Think Startup, Gurugram, NCR), Prof T Prasad (Professor of IIM Mumbai), Annil Suri (president and CEO, AB Consultants), Dr Vivek Sharma (CIO, IIM Jammu), Bhaskar Suri (Partner, Satyam Cattle Feed) and Rajneesh Sharma (founder director, Trikuta Agro) delivered talks on different entrepreneurial aspects.
During the panel discussion on “Entrepreneurship & Viksit Bharat-Vision 2047”, the experts gave their opinions and discussed the initiatives taken by the Government for its successful implementation. Apart from the six experts, students pursuing the MBA programs were also the panelists in the panel discussion. Ajay Kumar Sharma (Registrar, SMVDU) also joined the panel discussion. Dr Sunanda Gupta (organizing secretary) presented the panel discussion report.
Dr Syeda Shazia Bukhari (co-organizing secretary), Dr Deepak Jain (co-convener), Dr Sarabjot Singh and Dr Divya Singh Jamwal were also present on the occasion.
In the end, a hands-on workshop on ‘Enterprise Management’ was conducted by Sanjeeva Shivesh and Prof T Prasad to inculcate entrepreneurship skills among the students.
