Sir,
Dr Rafi Ramzan Dar’s article on environmental protection highlights the dire need for immediate and collective action to combat environmental degradation. The alarming increase in pollution, deforestation, and global warming is a testament to humanity’s reckless exploitation of nature.
With record-breaking temperatures already being felt in 2024, the urgency to address these issues cannot be overstated. As we observed World Environment Day with the theme “Land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience,” it is imperative that we transcend linguistic, cultural, and economic barriers to safeguard our planet. We must prioritize sustainable practices, reduce emissions, and promote refforestation efforts. Only through united and dedicated efforts can we hope to protect our environment and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.
