ERA organizes workshop on effective use of technology

JAMMU, Apr 12: A one-day long workshop on Technical Session (Concrete Mix, Foundation and Pre Stressed Technologies) was organized by J&K Economic Reconstruction Agency in the Seminar Hall of IIPA, here today.
The workshop was presided over and inaugurated by Er Thaseen Mustafa, CEO, J&K ERA and was attended by Er Alok Mengi Director (Central), D D Gorkha Director (Transport), Er Vinod Sharma Director (Safeguards), Er Shakti Sagar Sharma, Project Manager (JKUSDIP) Jammu, J&K ERA apart from the Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers from the R&B Dept, PMGSY, JKPCC, Housing Board, JDA, Police Housing Board & UEED and officer from ERA, PIU, PMC and DSC’s.
About 100 participants were present during the proceeding of the workshop.
Er Alok Mengi Director (Central) J&K ERA presented welcome address. He spoke about the capacity building programme being funded by ADB and its relevance in improving the project execution and Urban policy reforms.
Er Avinash Zutshi, Team Leader PMC-JKUSDIP ERA presented brief report about the session and the speakers.
Dr S K Gupta, Senior Professor from Govt. College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu, Dr M Y Shah and Javed Ahmad Naqash Senior Professor from National Institute of Technology from Srinagar, K S Samyal I/C Material Testing of DSC and Abu Baker G Mulla CM and QC Expert of PMC were the speakers.
In session-I, Dr S K Gupta, addressed the concept of Concrete Technologies and talked at length about the constitution of concrete and their specifications, while Shakti Sagar, Project Manager, JKUSDIP ERA Jammu delivered lecture on concrete mix design and Abu Baker G Mulla and K S Samyal delivered lecture on Concrete Production, Transportation and Placement.
In session-II, the lecture was delivered by Dr M Y Shah on Foundation technologies and  discussed in detail about foundation, its design and sub-surface
In session-III, lecture was delivered by Prof Javed Ahmad Naqash on Pre stressed technologies. Prof Naqash delivered about the types of pre stressing, general concept and codal provision about pre stressing.
Vote of the thanks was presented by Er Shakti Sagar Sharma, Project Manager(JKUSDIP) Jammu.
The workshop was organized by the Program Management Consultancy Services (PMC- CDM Smith Incl.) to J&K ERA which is headed by Er Avinash Zutshi.
