KATRA, Jan 1: On the directions of the Deputy Commi-ssioner Prasanna Ramaswamy G, Legal Metrology Department Reasi conducted inspection of various restaurants, eateries, dry fruits, parshad shops, gift item shops and others business establishments at holy town Katra and en route Shree Mata Vaishno Devi ji Bhawan.
Inspection team of Legal Metrology Department booked 33 traders for violation of Jammu and Kashmir Weight and Measures (enforcement) Act and Rules. Defective material was seized on spot by the Inspector Legal Metrology Reasi Vicky Sharma. A fine of Rs 36900 was imposed on the 27 erring traders by Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Reasi Kuldeep Raj.
Further, six erring traders were directed by the inspecting team to produce record related to seized materials before Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Reasi for further legal action warranted under rules.
