SRINAGAR, Dec 24: Field executives of Legal Metrology under the supervision of Joint Controller, Legal Metrology Kashmir conducted surprise inspection of several markets of the city and booked some ‘erring; traders for violating Weights and Measures Laws.
In a statement, a spokesman of the department said that one petrol pump owner was penalized by Deputy Controller (Enforcement) for not providing the records. The spokesman said that at Khonmoh, one trader was booked for supplying underweight grain bag to a consumer while as another one was penalized for using non-standard scale for weighing.
