JAMMU, Mar 21: Ek Sath Rang Mandal (ESRM) in collaboration with BLSKS and a part of Manthan-16 National street play festival, today presented Vijay Malla’s Nukkad ‘Fissultey Lumhey’ at Durga Bhawan, Janipur, Jammu, in its Monday Theatre series.
‘Fissultey Lumhey’ is a progressive play with warning and teaching for our young generation who do not understand the value of time and opportunity that they get in their life.
Written and directed by Vijay Malla, the play moves around a village youth namely Sultan, who plans to serve Army. He has big dreams for serving his mother land by joining Army.
One day Army organized a recruitment drive at their village. Being excited Sultan seeks permission from his parents to attend the drive, but to his utter disappointment he is refused by his parents, who discourage him by giving odd reasons that he will be posted in the remote areas and hilly tracks.
Pointing out that Army service is very hard and he cannot face such hardships, Sultan’s parents suggest him that he should start his carrier with a petty shop in the village rather than joining Army.
But unconvinced Sultan approaches an elderly ex-serviceman living in the village for his help and suggestion. The ex-serviceman asks few questions from his parents to convince them to allow Sultan to join Army but all in vain and Sultan is deprived of Army recruitment drive.
The ex-serviceman asks Sultan not to get disappointed, as he can go for another drive in the nearby village. Meanwhile, Sultan’s parents are also convinced by the ex-serviceman.
The play is a lesson for the young generation who miss golden opportunities in their life.
Actors who performed in the play were Qurat-Ul-Ain, Anuroop Pathania, Paras Chrungoo, Hem Raj, Gouri Lal, Mahesh Kotwal, Kamli Devi, Kuldeep Raj, Raju Mad and Vijay Malla.
