JAMMU, Feb 9: In its Monday Theatre series, Ek Sath Rang Mandal (ESRM) in collaboration with Volunteer Foundation and BLSKS staged its 129th play ‘Humey Badalna Hoga’ at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Paloura.
The play opens with a married couple discussing the importance of girl child and wants to convince their mother who is rigid to have a male child that too under her supervision.
However, the daughter-in-law decides to give delivery of her child at her parents’ house, which is again opposed by mother-in-law.
Finally, the mother is convinced by her son and daughter-in-law that girl child is as important for a house and society as a male child.
The play was followed by well knitted song “Aao Hum Sab Jan Jan Ko Jagaien Har Ghar Mey Beti Ko Bachhaien”.
Kiran Kumar Sharma of Volunteer Foundation gave a powerful speech on the topic ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’. Rohit Kumar, another member of Volunteer India also highlighted the importance of the girl child.
The play was witnessed by principal of the school, Choudhary Harbans Lal, vice-principal, Dr Suresh Sharma, members of Volunteer India, school staff and students witnessed the play.
Actors who performed were Anuroop Pathania, Rahul Pandita, Kuldeep Raj, Nazuk Bhagat, Surbhi Mahajan and Vijay Malla. The play was written and directed by Vijay Malla and assisted by Anuroop Pathania.
