JAMMU, Mar 9: Ek Sath Rang Mandal (ESRM) in collaboration with Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged Vijay Malla’s Hindustani play ‘Nateeja Thunn Thunn Gopal’ in nukkad form here at Slum Colony, Paloura, near JDA Park in its Monday Theatre.
This play is warning to the common man that despite remedies adopted by them to stop evils in the society with the help of social organizations, the results are not satisfactory. Drug addiction, boozing by labour and domestic violence are main evils of our society particularly in labour class families who are mostly illiterate and are facing such clematis.
In the play, the director highlighted the problem of women folk who are terrorized and harassed by their husbands. Their husbands stop these evils for a temporary phase and then again indulge in such habits. These women are deprived of their daily needs and they and their minor children are forced to work for their livelihood.
The play repeatedly shows that such bad habits lead to ugly and dangerous results. It also teaches the parents that they should never encourage their children for child labour which is illegal and leads to dark future of the child.
Actors who performed in the play were Anuroop Pathania, Qurat-Ul-Ain, Nazuk Bhagat, Rahul Pandita, Kanta Sharma, KK Joshi, MC Kotwal, Rahul Raina, Laksh Bali, Surbhi Mahajan and Vijay Malla.
